today was interim 1 presentation.
i promised to meet my group members by 11.30am, but i was late. Because i have to rush all the power point slide and the storyboard and only get to sleep by 6am. That's why i could not wake up on time. I'm sorry ! ): I will try not to be late for every meeting!

So we were the last group to present. Rizal present a few slides of the power point, Huiyu present some of the slides too and also the mood board. And i present the storyboard. I was quite nervous because my storyboard was not that well-done and i did not present that well. But heard from some of the classmates saying that my message is clear. And Wahida also comment on my pronunciation and i have to really look up during my filming, if not the audience will not able to hear my speech clearly. Thus this part really stress me out a lot. Really hope during the filming, i will be more calm and will not be too tense. And hope that my pronunciation will not affect the video.

so really, ALL THE BEST !

The week is crazy as i need to cater my time to DHnC and P1. But such nutty time had passed as i concluded my grades yesterday.

We had our interim 1 presentation smoothly today. Although Wahidah commented and enquired on many points, i think we had yet put in our best effort. Thus it can be better.  At the same time, Jovi gave us a comment that we should be careful for boy's attitude towards his father. As our target audience includes parent, consideration of how they feel will be noted.

As paper work is nearly done, soon the shooting period barges in. 

Will be discussing on the call sheet later.

Thanks alot to my grp member for completing so much work while i craze for DHnC.

hello !

we have group discussion as usual. I showed my storyboard to my group members and i find my whole drawing quite amusing. But i glad that the message in the storyboard is clear enough. We discuss more on the script writing and continue the scene for the storyboard. Then 2pm, we went for our consultation. We showed Wahida our storyboard and explaining the message in it to her. It was not finished and we could not show her everything. Then we also show her our schedule that we planned for the next whole month.

In the schedule, we have planned which scene to shoot on which day, when to do our animation and when to do our editing. we also set a dead line for ourselves to finish everything and have a last check in case we miss out anything last minute.

After the consultation, we brief on the thing we have to do and that's it for the day.

hello everyone!!

today we have consultation with Wahida. Today we discuss on our storyboard and our script. we discuss about our character, discuss on where we want to shoot the scene, the mood board, the language, the sequence of our video, our different scene and lastly when we want to start our production.

We decided to make our character talk in chinese because it is going to be different from the rest and also to show that the father in our video is so old dated and always want the son to listen to him and choose what he decide. We going to shoot at Huiyu house and his uncle is going to be our actor. Maybe if all went smoothly this friday we will start producing and shooting our first scene and by next week finish our shoot so we can concentrate on our animation and editing. It's ging to be one hell of a tough coming weeks but im prepared for the challenge. hahaha!!

Now while im updating this blog, Huiyu is doing the MOODBOARD and Yi ting is doing the STORYBOARD and i am just lazying around.....hahahaha!!! NOLAA KIDDING!! im finding some MUSIC and SOUND suitable for our video and also writing my script.

GO GO GO ALE ALE ALE!!! 3 MORE WEEKS GIRLS AND WE CAN FINISH THIS MOI PROJECT 1!!!!

hello !


Have our group discussion and consultation today. we started to work on our final solution, do all the production planning like the schedule, call sheet, logistics, waredore, roles, music and script writing. It is not really easy to have a good solution. Because our solution always lack of support evidence and not enough background story to support our ideas.

After the consultation, we finally know how to improve on our solution. Thank you Wahida! Now, we got the rough idea on what to do already. We will continue to develop more on our solution and make it as good as possible ! More detailed production planning will be done over the weekends.

our story line right now will be a guy getting back his O's level result. When he got back home, his father keep on questioned him about his result and bothered him about his future course. So the guy felt annoying and ran out of the house. He ran to a park to have some peaceful moment of his own. As he ran, he knocked into a student who is carrying a lot of stuff. He quickly helped the student to pick up his stuff and apologise. The student left without noticing that his CD is being left behind. When the guy realised it and picked it up, the student is nowhere to be seen already. He stared at the CD with a MOI journey label on it, and surprisingly the CD wink at him. He got amazed by it and decided to bring it home.

He opened the CD and watched it through his computer. Its a video and at the start of the video, lots of bubbles floating upward. There are three bubbles in between and the three bubbles feature three MOI students which will be our group members. Bubbles with letter in it will form a word " MOI JOURNEY " and appear and this will be the introduction. After that, the whole animation part will transit into another scene which will be at temasek design school. This is where all the interview part about the course and the module will take place.

So this is roughly our storyline for the video. We will be working more on it.

Hope all my group members will take care of their body and get ready for the filming and the busy schedule ahead!

The waves of individual presentation just died down with hiccups along its way. With design problems, research and concept wrong, basically only my ideas was accepted. In addition to obstacles, I have to redo my proposal which many did. The presentation was considered a failure but its over.

One of my idea is about a video found by an archaeologist that presents our works as though they are ancient monuments and our statements are factual evidence. This video is then reproduce with an edited version and will be air as a documentary. It will consist of visuals, audio and moderately used effects. A behind the screen narration like normal documentary to explain necessary points, however different voice sources will be used to aid visual purpose. It will be a mixture of comedy and adventure, with influential words to inspire my target audience. Modules considered through the survey will be introduced.

Well, I hope it helps as tsunami of interim 1 strikes.

Our final solution has not yet been finalized, thus after the discussion online we decide to meet tomorrow for a final decision.

Hello everyone i am sick and got MC for 2 days. this 2 days i've been at home resting due to my injured back. i really hope my group is surviving and not missing me alot. HAHAHAHAA!!

Its the first day of the third week.
And is the day to present our two ideas for MOI project 1 task one. It's a individual work and i guess most of us are struggling on.

two of our group members get to present today. One of them is Huiyu and another one is me. Coincidentally, i got around the same idea as HuiYu. It's good and we can able to combine our idea and make it more interesting for our final solution. I didn't get to present as my powerpoint is in the wrong format and i could not open it. And so i have to skip my turn and allow others to present while i went to fix the problem.

when it was 3pm already, not more than half of the class have presented. So the rest of them would be presenting tomorrow. We hand in our proposal to Wahida and Wahida go through with the previous proposal for the third age council group by group. She told us whats our problem and things that we didn't do well for the proposal.

So that's it for the day.

and hope our group member, Rizal will get well soon ! :D

Confusion strikes so often this days. Does the problem lies with my heart or ear?

Well, met up with the rest early today to arrange the documents. Than realize that we are supposed to hand in the hard copy first and present later after a last minute meeting. We frantically stuffed everything we have to Wahidah and left for the unknown briefing. Details were explained once again.

Its about the changes made to the final assignment where best effort is highly required. In order to boost our confidence and give us a rough idea of what is expected, videos of past presenters were screened. 

A great learning experience it is through the techniques, concept and styles. Good examples and bad ones are showed to tip us a little. After the playing of the videos, i had a clearer image of what ideas i can contribute. It may be beyond reach but worth considering (= At the same time the assignment is tickling us with excitement and glory beyond, showing how fun a project can be.

Since everything ended at 3.20 pm, our presentation and consultation is pushed till tomorrow.

Although more time for thinking of what to consult. However stress accumulates, with 2 presentation and 1 upcoming on Monday.

Hope i don't screw up anything tomorrow.

Hello !

i guess most people are already half-dead doing the exercise one and im one of them too.
So there is no class today but we have to go school eariler than the usual time to gather with my group members and continue with our dicussion.

we have our group discussion at the level 6 mac lab. Our discussion went very smoothly throughout the way. It's great that we got no disagreement among us and we tend to bond really well. We did our powperpoint for the presentation and the proposal too after our dicussion.

I did feel stress while im halfway doing because we are quite behind time and there's still more to do. But glad that through the help of my group members, we manage to get it done as fast as we can be and at the same time do the best we can.
And I believe that all of us will be getting ready for the presentation tomorrow.
All the best and my group members are great yo! : D

Hello wello milo zello,

Today i reach school early. Were supposed to meet outside LT25 at 12.25 but reached around 12.05. Everyone was late hahaha! Ok moving on, today we watch a video on Nike advertisement and how the go about doing it. Example the ad agency have to know......
1. what the client want,
2. the information about the client,
3. the theme,
4. the target audience,
5. the client objective,
6. the feeling of the advertisement
7. music.

After all that they have to look for a production house to produce theadvertisement. The production house must have the same understanding with the planning and design brief. To do something u need alot of work and homework to be done eg, need to scout for place where they want to shoot the scene, the actor, the time of shot, and the sun for light effect. Before going out and start the final shooting, we have to come out with pcitures, storyboard and research evidence to show the client what we want to do and ratinalization on why we do it this way.

As time inches towards 1pm, eyelids start to grow heavy and footsteps approach unwillingly. Lesson was comparatively short and it kick started with a discussion of what we will include in a proposal. After extracting every bits of what we thought a proposal could consist of, all the groups had to name a few. As soon as a few were listed, further elaboration and analysis of the factors shot us straight into the head by Wahidah. We noted down a few that were not being thought of and some groups had the honour to read out everything for nick picking session.

Later, a draft factors of a project proposal was handed to us. 

1. Title page: Consisting of group's info and name of project

2. Design problem: Problem statement, methods and expected results

3. Background: Motivation and need for the project, target audience description

4. Objectives: Concept of the project, purpose of solution and scope of project

5. Message: What project communicates about and what the audience can understand from it

6. Description: Explanation of concept allowing client to understand through the packaging and strategies

7. Deliverables: Different project element listed and explained

8. Timeline: A chart dividing task over a time

9. Roles: Team member will perform

10. Logistics and technical implementation: Medium required

11. Research: Main finding summarized

12. Reference

After getting a clearer idea of what is required, we then continue with a mini discussion/planning on a timeline to make sure things move accordingly. Further compilation will be done tomorrow.

Today we got only consultation for our exercise. But we meet up first for some group discussion before the consultation start. For the group discussion, we started to create an online survey for our exercise. The survey is created for the teenager age twelve to twenty-five and young adult that age from twenty-six to fifty-five.
By the time we done with our survey, it's our turn for the consultation. Wahida helped us to improve more better for our survey, make it more useful and revelance to our solution.
After the consultation, we developed more for our ideas and edit our survey. Then we brief for the thing that each of us have to do during the weekend. And thats it for the day.

Our group is doing very well and did our part for the exercise. Let's keep this on all the way to our final ! =D

Hey ooo lets go..

Today was a short lesson. everyone came to class on time and getting ready to sponge in as much as we can. We learn about research. Example "Research Material" "The Source", "The Method" and who is your "Sample". is is very useful to me because now i know how to go about doing my research. after learning that, my lecturer tell us to be in our group and get started with our Exercise 1. My group have already started our research on existing idea. So basically we got the idea of what we want to do.

We started coming out with possible problem involving generation gap and we pick the best of it. after that we discussed on what type of research style we want to approached and we choose to use the internet, survey and interview. This come the best part. We got to put our creative mind up and come out with a possible question for our survey and alot of question came out and we were just writing down whatever came to our mind. Then we asked our lecturer whether is it okay and we got a green light for it. Thank God its ok because i thought we were out of topic already.

I love how my group work today. They were participating in the discussion, squeezing their brain juice coming out with question and making thing work very fast. i really like being in this group and i really think we can make it through this project together with good marks. Thanks you girls for everything today. GOOD JOB KEEP IT UP. remember TUESDAY PRESENTATION!!! hahahaha! good night!

The ball shall continue rolling...

Just about to wrap up our uncertainties of what this module is about, spiteful confusion decides to show off its superiority and is dancing about in cartwheels. Mere mention of MOI P1 sends stress along my nerves. Thus, caring lecturers decided to do a mini operation for my nerves to take a break. Instead of a profound lecture like as usual, we had a talk session with Victric Thng this morning.

Screening of short films produced by him and his teammates, was a distinct experience from what I previously attended. His masterpieces were like chocolate bars, sweet to watch but bitter to understand. Melancholy abstractly seems to be chocking me, however his words was inspiring and his response was informative.

Back to impactful exercise 1, we are thinking of solutions independently accompanied with a little research maybe. Then finalizing our 2 solutions escorted by more detail research as soon as possible, hopefully tomorrow!

Second day 3feb2009

So today is the second lesson for MOI project one. We were sat together with our group member and our lecturer, Wahida gave us a more detail brief for our final assignment. Like how we suppose to do for our portfolio and how it goes like. But i guess most of us are still confuse about it including me. Hope we can get a better idea about the final assignment as we move on.

Then we were given 45minutes to research on the question that the lecturer given to us. Like, what is design process? what is research process? what is the designer roles? and what is the design problem? I think 45 minutes was not enough for our group because when the other group already back from doing their research, we were still working on our power point. Our group manage to complete it and get to be the third group to present. I did not do a proper presentation as i did not elaborate more for my research.

But through this exercise, i get a better knowledge and idea of the design process and more. Knowing the step of the process and improve better for the final product. But some steps still need time to absorb it as it is quite difficult to understand it.
After every group have presented, we get a rough idea of how design process is like. Then our lecturer show us some website for more detail about design process and showing us example of some product that how design process work and help.

It is really useful and i would try to apply this method for all my assignment.
And this mark the end of the lesson.
Our group are now started working on the Exercise one, looking more into it and research more about the ideas.

FIRST DAY (2/2/2009)

My first day normal and shocking. We had an introduction about MOI Project 1 at LT 25. My first impression about the module was I thought it is going to be easy but it is challenging and need to put in a lot of energy and effort to finish this module.

After 1 hour of introduction to the module, we went to our individual class and get to know who is in our class. I was shocked, I do not know almost half of my classmate. And here is the most scary part of today, we were going to be group together using a lucky draw method. I was shocked, scared and worried, what if i cannot work with them and what if i cause them a lot of trouble and their grade get affected all because of me. I put all that thought aside and just go on with the lucky draw and here I am in Troix group. Me, Hui Yu and Yi Ting.

A little rationale about what Troix means. Since there are 3 person in a group, we pick the word "Trois" which mean 3 in French and 'x' is an alphabet replacing 's'.
